TESO Group, one of Mongolia’s leading food manufacturers, has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, outlining progress on its sustainability goals.
👀 Raising the Bar
Since 2009, TESO Group has progressively integrated international standards into its operations, particularly within the food and manufacturing sectors. In 2023, the group took a strategic leap by renewing its sustainability policy, aligning it with global standards, with the commitment to publish its Sustainability Report annually.
Building on this foundation, the subsidiaries under TESO Group have adopted 6 international management systems, setting a new benchmark for Mongolian companies. Milko LLC, for instance, became the first Mongolian company to implement an energy management system and certified its integrated management system, which covers everything from quality to food safety and environmental protection.
🐾 Carbon Footprint Accounting and Waste Management
Expanding its focus to environmental responsibility, TESO Group officially calculated its CO₂ emissions starting from 2024. The report shows that 6,535 tons of CO₂ were emitted, while the group’s emissions were reduced equivalent to 875 kg of CO₂. Furthermore, they conserved 16,619 kWh of energy. Notably, 30% of the Group’s delivery vehicles are electric, marking a direct step toward carbon footprint reduction.
🫂 A People-Centered, Supportive Workplace
In 2024, TESO Group revised its HR policy to prioritize employee well-being across 5 key dimensions, financial, mental, physical, social, and professional. The company actively fosters a diverse and inclusive work environment, with a workforce of 2,291 employees, 51% of whom are women. By implementing robust gender equality policies and addressing issues like discrimination and harassment, TESO Group ensures a supportive, equitable workplace for all.
Taken together, TESO Group remains deeply invested in education, healthcare, sports, and human development. Through the inside and outside efforts of the group, TESO Group is not only setting new standards for corporate sustainability in Mongolia but also working towards a future where businesses thrive financially while making a meaningful contribution to society and the planet.
