Mongolian Metal Rock on the Global Stage

Mongolian metal rock band UUHAI has inked their first international album deal with Napalm Records, announcing it with their new single “Uuhai” released on November 6, 2025.

👀 Who Are They?

UUHAI is a 7-member band whose music blends global rock with the UNESCO-recognized cultural traditions of Mongolian throat singing, long song, and horsehead fiddle, creating a unique Mongolian folk-metal sound.  

🆕 Album on January 9

Following the viral success of their early single, “Khar Khulz,” which has garnered 7.2 million YouTube views, UUHAI is preparing to release their highly anticipated debut album, “Human Herds,” on January 9, 2026. The album’s first single, the eponymous track “Uuhai,” captures the band’s fusion of traditional Mongolian music with driving rock-metal energy.

  • 🎚️ In addition to the album, UUHAI will tour  31 concerts across 9 European countries in 2026 as part of the Motocular Festival, bringing their powerful live performances to fans across the continent.

When it comes to Mongolian metal rock, The HU is the first band that comes to mind. Formed in 2016, they were the pioneers of Hunnu Rock, a genre that fuses traditional Mongolian instrumentation with heavy metal, attracting global audiences. Today, The HU has 1.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify and 1.7 million YouTube subscribers, setting the stage for bands like UUHAI to expand Mongolia’s presence in the international rock-metal scene.

Finally… Mongolian metal rock is drawing global attention. The blend of deep throat singing and heavy metal has become the signature sound of bands like The Hu and UUHAI,  and could lay the foundation for even more Mongolian acts to rise on the world stage.
